U.S. Embassy in Manila Cancels July 22, 2025 Visa and Citizen Service Appointments Due to Severe Weather

In response to the ongoing severe weather brought about by the southwest monsoon, the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines has officially announced the cancellation of all consular appointments scheduled for Tuesday, July 22, 2025. This includes appointments for U.S. visa services as well as services for American citizens.
Official Statement from the U.S. Embassy
According to the Embassy's advisory, the main Embassy compound in Manila will suspend operations on July 22 due to the impact of continuous heavy rainfall and strong winds in Metro Manila and surrounding areas. This decision was made in the interest of public safety and the well-being of Embassy staff.
Affected applicants are advised not to proceed to the Embassy on the said date and to await further instructions. Rescheduling details will be sent via email, or applicants may visit the Embassy’s website for updates:
Visa Application Center (VAC) Remains Operational
Despite the closure of the main Embassy, the offsite Visa Application Center in Parañaque City will remain open on July 22, 2025. Applicants with appointments at this location should continue as scheduled, unless otherwise notified or if local weather conditions pose safety concerns. Applicants are advised to monitor relevant local advisories and make personal safety their top priority.

The U.S. Embassy has also issued a reminder to the public to avoid traveling through flooded or hazardous areas during this period of inclement weather. The Embassy expressed its regret for the inconvenience and extended its appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding.
